Assam Rifles and Manipur Police Seize Drugs and Uncover Weapons Cache in Coordinated Operations
Northeast Desk, 20th June: In a series of coordinated operations, Assam Rifles, in partnership with Manipur Police, achieved significant successes in their ongoing efforts to combat illegal activities in the region.
On June 19, a joint operation in Mao, Senapati District, Manipur, led to the seizure of 22 soap cases containing a total of 260 grams of Brown Sugar, valued at approximately Rs. 2.6 Lakhs. The confiscated narcotics have been handed over to the police for further investigation and legal action.
In another major operation, Assam Rifles and Manipur Police conducted a raid in the Charoibung area of Imphal West district. This operation resulted in the discovery of a substantial cache of arms and ammunition, including one carbine machine gun, two single-barrel guns, twelve grenades, six tube launchers, various ammunition, and other warlike stores.
The recovery of these weapons and narcotics is a crucial step in maintaining peace and security in the region. Authorities are actively investigating the origins and intended uses of the seized items, with the aim of dismantling any networks involved in their distribution and preventing further illegal activities.
