Assam Rifles and State Police Conduct Joint Operation to Restore Peace in Jiribam

Northeast Desk, 20th June: In a concerted effort to quell unrest and restore confidence among residents, the Assam Rifles, in collaboration with State Police and CAPFs, conducted a sweeping joint operation across Jiribam District on June 19, 2024. Over 200 security personnel participated in this large-scale initiative aimed at maintaining law and order and promoting peaceful coexistence.

The operation was prompted by recent disturbances in Jiribam, exacerbated by a localized incident on June 6, 2024, exploited for divisive purposes. Responding to heightened tensions, additional forces were deployed across strategic locations in the district to reinforce efforts in restoring peace and stability.

“This joint operation underscores our collective commitment to safeguarding the community and preventing any disruptive elements,” affirmed a spokesperson from the Assam Rifles. The operation covered crucial areas from Jiri Circle to Leingangpoki, ensuring a visible presence and sending a strong message against unrest.

Since achieving peace in May 2023, Jiribam has symbolized hope for Manipur. The recent show of force not only aims to reassure residents but also serves as a deterrent against any attempts to destabilize the region, underscoring the importance of unity and vigilance in preserving harmony.

“We are steadfast in our mission to restore normalcy and foster a secure environment for all,” emphasized officials involved in the operation. The joint effort by Assam Rifles and allied forces reflects a resolute commitment to upholding peace and protecting the welfare of Jiribam’s community.
