Manipur Government Releases Funds for UPSC-CSE Candidates from Hilly Districts
Northeast Desk, 22nd June: In response to directions from the Supreme Court, the Manipur government has allocated funds to provide financial assistance to candidates from hilly districts who travelled outside the state to appear for the UPSC-CSE 2024 examinations.
Due to ongoing ethnic tensions, many civil service aspirants from the Kuki community opted not to travel to Imphal for their exams. Consequently, exam centres were relocated, prompting these candidates to seek financial aid, which was subsequently requested through legal channels.
Confirming the release of funds, Khumanthem Diana Devi, Deputy Commissioner of Imphal East District, issued a public notice stating that funds have been disbursed to the respective deputy commissioners. Each eligible candidate will receive Rs 3,000 per day for a total of three days, amounting to Rs 9,000 per candidate.
Despite the preliminary exams being conducted on June 16, applications for financial assistance are still being accepted until June 25. Applicants must submit their requests along with necessary documents such as UPSC-CSE admit cards, bank account details, and residential certificates to avail of the financial aid provided by the state government.
