Mizoram Celebrates Olympic Day with Enthusiastic Olympic Day Run

Northeast Desk, 22nd June: Mizoram on Saturday, June 22 came together to commemorate International Olympic Day with an exhilarating Olympic Day Run, graced by Sports & Youth Services Minister Lalnghinglova Hmar.

Minister Hmar, addressing the participants, extended warm greetings on the occasion and emphasized the significance of sports in cultivating unity and excellence among Mizoram’s youth. He encouraged active participation in various Olympic sports disciplines as a means to promote physical fitness and sporting spirit.

The event drew enthusiastic participation from numerous sports associations across Mizoram. The Mizoram Badminton Association clinched the top honor for contributing the highest number of participants in the run, showcasing their dedication to promoting sports at grassroots levels. Following closely, the Mizoram Football Association secured the second position, with the Mizoram Amateur Taekwondo Association taking the third spot.

The Olympic Day Run not only celebrated the spirit of the Olympics but also underscored Mizoram’s commitment to fostering sports and encouraging youth engagement in athletic activities. It served as a vibrant platform to promote the values of sportsmanship and physical well-being among the community.
