Security Forces in Manipur Arrest Individual for Extortion and Seize Arms Cache
Northeast Desk, 23th June: On June 22, security forces in Manipur arrested Sathaolen Kilong, 24, in connection with extorting money from truck drivers near Bongmol Village on NH-2, Kangpokpi district. Kilong was apprehended in the area between Kalapahar and Bongmol villages. Authorities seized a synthetic leather purse, a mobile phone, and Rs 4,100 in cash during the arrest.
In a related incident, security forces conducted search operations in the Waithou foothill area of Thoubal District, leading to the recovery of a significant cache of arms and ammunition. The items seized included:

- One SMG with Magazine
- One Revolver
- Two 2-inch Mortar Shells
- Two 81-Mortar Shells
- Two 36-HE Hand Grenades
- Two Chinese Grenades

- Two Smoke Shells
- One Motorola Handheld Set
- One 7.62 SLR Magazine
- One Assault Rifle Magazine
