Manipur Police Arrests Four Individuals Involved in Extortion Activities
Northeast Desk, 23th June: The Manipur Police on June 22 arrested three active cadres of the proscribed outfit KCP (City Meitei) from Imphal West District in connection with extortion activities. The individuals were identified as Akoijam Robinson Singh (31 years), Phijam Tomba Singh (50 years), and Lourembam Sadananda Singh (18 years). During the operation, police personnel recovered a four-wheeler vehicle from their possession.
In a separate incident, security forces apprehended Sathaolen Kilong (24 years) in the area between Kalapahar and Bongmol villages on NH-2, Kangpokpi district, for extorting money from truck drivers. Kilong was found with a synthetic leather purse, a mobile phone, and Rs 4100 in cash.
These arrests are part of ongoing efforts by Manipur’s law enforcement to curb extortion and maintain peace in the region.
