Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma Makes Strategic Visit to Jharkhand

Guwahati, 23rd June: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma arrived in Jharkhand on June 23 to assess the BJP’s performance in the recent Lok Sabha elections and strategize for the upcoming state assembly polls later this year, as confirmed by party officials.

His visit follows his recent appointment as the co-in-charge of the Jharkhand Bharatiya Janata Party, signaling a proactive role in bolstering the party’s prospects in the state assembly elections.

Simultaneously, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, designated as the state BJP in-charge for the impending polls, is also in Ranchi to formulate campaign strategies.

Speaking to reporters, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan highlighted the BJP’s upcoming environmental campaign, “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,” which commences today, June 23. This initiative aims to rally BJP workers and the public in efforts to protect the environment.

In a tribute on social media platform X, Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commemorated Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukherjee on his martyrdom day, hailing him as a nationalist icon and a pillar of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh.

Recently, the BJP’s Jharkhand Core Committee convened in Delhi on June 18, where central leaders emphasized the need for a robust effort to rectify shortcomings from the Lok Sabha elections and prepare effectively for the upcoming assembly polls.

Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma expressed confidence in BJP’s prospects in Jharkhand, predicting the party’s victory in the state assembly elections scheduled for November-December this year. He cited the BJP’s strong performance in the Lok Sabha elections as a promising indicator for the upcoming polls.

The assembly elections in Jharkhand will determine 81 members of the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly and are anticipated to be crucial in shaping the state’s political landscape for the next term.
