Former Sikkim MP Pahalman Subba Passes Away

Northeast Desk, 27th June: Pahalman Subba, Sikkim’s first elected Member of Parliament (MP), passed away early this morning at Central Referral Hospital at the age of 90. Subba had been grappling with health issues for several days.

The state has witnessed a flood of tributes following Subba’s demise, with expressions of grief and condolences coming from various quarters, including the Chief Minister. In a heartfelt statement, the CM expressed his sorrow and extended his sympathies to Subba’s family and loved ones.

“I am deeply saddened to know about the demise of former MP, Late Shri Pahalman Subba Jyu. I extend my heartfelt condolences to his family, relatives, and friends during this difficult hour and offer my prayers for the departed soul to rest in eternal peace,” the CM said.

The Chief Minister also paid his respects to Subba at the hospital, describing the moment as solemn and honoring the memory of a respected leader. He met with Subba’s family to personally offer his condolences.

Subba’s remains will be transported to Timbrbung in Soreng for his final rites. His legacy and significant contributions to Sikkim’s political landscape will be fondly remembered and deeply honored.
