Sikkim CM Discusses State Priorities with Lt. General Minwalla, Lauds Army Cooperation
Northeast Desk, 28th June: In a significant meeting held this evening at Mintokgang, Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang engaged in a productive discussion with Lt. General Zubin A. Minwalla, AVSM, YSM, GOC of the 33 Corps. The dialogue focused on various critical issues pertinent to the state, highlighting the close collaboration between the state government and the army.
Lt. General Minwalla commended the Sikkim government for fostering a harmonious relationship with the army, particularly emphasizing the support and necessary clearances provided for road construction projects across Sikkim. This cooperation, he noted, has played a pivotal role in maintaining the state’s infrastructure and ensuring strategic connectivity.
In response, Chief Minister Tamang expressed sincere appreciation to Lt. General Minwalla and the army personnel stationed in Sikkim. He praised their steadfast support during rescue operations and times of calamity, underscoring the essential role the army plays in safeguarding the safety and well-being of Sikkim’s residents.
The meeting underscored the mutual commitment to addressing key state priorities and strengthening the partnership between the government of Sikkim and the Indian Army.
