Spear Corps GOC Lt Gen HS Sahi Reviews Assam Rifles Operational Preparedness

Northeast Desk,1st July: Today, on July 1, Spear Corps General Officer Commanding (GOC) Lt Gen HS Sahi conducted a visit to the Assam Rifles Headquarters in Nagaland. His itinerary included stops at Kohima and Chieswema, where he assessed the operational readiness of the Assam Rifles personnel.

During his visit, Lt Gen Sahi praised the dedication and hard work of the Assam Rifles personnel, known as the Northern Sentinels, for their exemplary service in maintaining security and peace in the region. The GOC’s presence underscored ongoing efforts to enhance operational efficiency and preparedness within the Assam Rifles.

Details regarding specific discussions held between Lt Gen Sahi and Assam Rifles officials were not immediately disclosed.

The Assam Rifles, India’s oldest paramilitary force, plays a pivotal role in ensuring security across the northeastern states.

Earlier this month, on June 20, the Assam Rifles Women Shooting Team demonstrated outstanding performance at the AIPSC Women Service Shooting Championship 2024-25. They secured second place in the overall Rifle category and third place in the overall Pistol Shooting competition, highlighting their prowess in competitive shooting.
