Planned Power Outage in Meghalaya for Urgent Maintenance
Northeast Desk, 4th July: The Meghalaya Power Distribution Corporation Limited (MePDCL) has announced a scheduled power outage on July 4th, 2024, to facilitate essential maintenance work on the 11KV Pohkseh feeder. The maintenance is crucial for ensuring the reliability and efficiency of the power supply in the region.
The outage will commence from 9:00 AM and is expected to continue until 5:00 PM, affecting several areas in Meghalaya. The Government of Meghalaya has issued a shutdown notice to inform residents about the scheduled maintenance.
Areas affected by the power outage include:
- Rynjah
- Pohkseh
- Nongrim Road
- Nongrim Maw
- Lower Nongrim Hills
- Dum Dum
- Nongthymmai Nongshiliang
- Rynjah Dispensary
- Rynjah Police Station
- Parts of Jelly Shop
- Children’s Hospital
According to MePDCL, the maintenance work is necessary to ensure the continued reliability and efficiency of the power supply from the 33/11KV S.E. Falls and Lapalang substations. The corporation has assured residents that efforts will be made to complete the maintenance promptly to minimize inconvenience.
Residents are advised to plan accordingly for the power outage and take necessary precautions during the maintenance period. The government has urged all esteemed consumers in the affected areas to make necessary arrangements to cope with the temporary disruption in power supply.
