IMD Issues Heavy Rainfall Alert for Northeast India and Other Regions
Guwahati, 7th July: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a forecast indicating isolated heavy rainfall over several states in Northeast India until July 10. States expected to be significantly impacted include Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Mizoram, and Tripura.
In addition to these regions, the IMD reports that Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim will also experience isolated heavy rainfall during this period. The forecasts are part of a broader alert encompassing other regions across India, with a particular emphasis on the Northeast due to its susceptibility to heavy rains.
The rest of the country is not spared from this weather pattern. Regions such as Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, East Rajasthan, and South Interior Karnataka are also expected to see similar conditions. From tomorrow to Wednesday, heavy rainfall is anticipated over East Uttar Pradesh, East and West Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, and Chhattisgarh.
