As the river encroaches, vital infrastructure including the centre’s official residence and government property have already been lost.
Despite recent improvements in the flood situation across eastern districts of Arunachal Pradesh, the erosion caused by the Buridihing River has escalated into a critical issue at Kharsang, Changlang district. Of particular concern is the threat posed to the industrial training centre in Balinong, a cornerstone of vocational education in the region.
The erosion has already claimed significant portions of land and essential infrastructure, causing deep concern among the centre’s chairman and staff about its future viability.
