Guwahati, July 19, 2024: In a distressing incident, three friends have gone missing after venturing into the Dayang river for a swim at Golaghat Wating Gaadigaon on Thursday evening. The missing students, identified as Kailash Kumar Bhakta, Kumud Jal, and Manoj Deep, a class IX student of Jamuguri tea estate, left behind their bicycles, sandals, and food items on the riverbank, suggesting they had intended to take a dip.
The families of the missing students claim they were unaware of their plans to go swimming, adding to the concern and uncertainty. The local community is in a state of anguish as the search operation continues, with police and SDRF teams scouring the river for any signs of the missing boys.
