Assam: Three Friends Feared Drowned in Dayang River, Search Operation Underway

Guwahati, July 19, 2024: In a distressing incident, three friends have gone missing after venturing into the Dayang river for a swim at Golaghat Wating Gaadigaon on Thursday evening. The missing students, identified as Kailash Kumar Bhakta, Kumud Jal, and Manoj Deep, a class IX student of Jamuguri tea estate, left behind their bicycles, sandals, and food items on the riverbank, suggesting they had intended to take a dip.

The families of the missing students claim they were unaware of their plans to go swimming, adding to the concern and uncertainty. The local community is in a state of anguish as the search operation continues, with police and SDRF teams scouring the river for any signs of the missing boys. The incident has sent shockwaves through the area, and hopes are pinned on a swift and safe recovery of the trio.
