Assam State Education Department Announces Schedule for Gunotsav 2025

Guwahati, 20th July: The Assam State Education Department has unveiled the schedule for Gunotsav 2025, a comprehensive assessment initiative set to take place from January 6 to February 9, 2025. The program will be executed in three distinct phases, covering various districts across the state.

Phase I: The initial phase will commence with self-evaluation on January 6, followed by external evaluations on January 7, 8, and 9. This phase will encompass 11 districts: Barpeta, Bajali, Karimganj, Kamrup, Karbi Anglong, Kokrajhar, Lakhimpur, Nagaon, Sivasagar, South Salmara-Mankachar, and Udalguri.

Phase II: The second phase is scheduled for January 18 for self-evaluation, with external evaluations set for January 20, 21, and 22. This phase will cover 13 districts: Baksa, Chirang, Charaideo, Dhemaji, Dhubri, Golaghat, Hailakandi, Jorhat, Kamrup (M), Sonitpur, Tamulpur, Tinsukia, and West Karbi Anglong.

Phase III: The final phase will begin with self-evaluation on February 5, followed by external evaluations on February 6, 7, and 8. This phase will include 11 districts: Bongaigaon, Biswanath, Darrang, Dibrugarh, Goalpara, Cachar, Nalbari, Morigaon, Dima Hasao, Majuli, and Hojai.

Significantly, the Gunotsav for Bajali and Tamulpur will be overseen by Barpeta and Baksa, respectively.

Taking to social media, Assam Education Minister Ranoj Pegu announced, “Gunotsav 2025 will be held in three phases from January 6 to February 9. All preparations are progressing on time. 43,23,499 students in 45,629 schools will be assessed in Gunotsav. We seek everyone’s cooperation.”

The initiative aims to evaluate and enhance the quality of education across the state, ensuring that students receive the best possible learning outcomes.
