Manipur: Grenade Attack on Salai Holdings Board Member’s Residence in Singjamei Causes Extensive Damage

Northeast Desk, 21st July: In a shocking incident, unknown assailants attacked the residence of Chingtham Samson, a board member of Salai Holdings, in Singjamei Mayengbam Leikai late Friday night. The attack, involving the explosion of two hand grenades, occurred around midnight, resulting in significant property damage but no casualties.

Sources report that the assailants arrived in a four-wheeler and were captured on CCTV footage throwing the grenades into Samson’s residential compound. The powerful blasts caused extensive damage to five vehicles parked in the courtyard. Senior officers from the Imphal West district police responded immediately to assess the damage and secure the area.

The police have launched a thorough investigation into the incident, with a case filed at the Singjamei police station. Authorities are diligently examining the CCTV footage and seeking leads to identify and apprehend the perpetrators behind this violent act.
