Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma to Lead Ambitious Amrit Brikshya Andolan 2024

Guwahati, 21st July: Building on the success of its inaugural edition, Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma is set to spearhead the second edition of the Amrit Brikshya Andolan in 2024. This extensive tree plantation campaign aims to plant a staggering 3 crore seedlings across the state.

This year’s campaign introduces several new features designed to streamline participation and monitoring. For the first time, the initiative will leverage a digital-first approach, featuring app-based registration and renewals. This change aims to simplify the process and expand the range of beneficiaries. Interested participants can register via the official website (aba.assam.gov.in) or the ABA mobile app, with registration open until July 31, 2024.

Key dates for the Amrit Brikshya Andolan 2024 are as follows:

  1. Registration and renewals: Until July 31
  2. Seedling distribution: July 30 to August 12
  3. Plantation photograph submission: August 1 to 15

Participants will be able to upload photographs of their planted seedlings through the website or mobile app, enabling more effective tracking and verification of the plantation efforts.

By incorporating technology, the Assam government aims to boost participation and ensure the success of this ambitious afforestation project. This initiative reflects a strong commitment to environmental conservation and community engagement, promising to significantly enhance Assam’s green cover.
