Manipur Police Arrest Six Militants in Statewide Operations
Northeast Desk, 22nd July: In a series of coordinated operations on July 21, Manipur Police apprehended six cadres from various outlawed groups across the state.
- Khoirom Ranjit Meitei (Poirei/Rocky): A 44-year-old active member of the Kangleipak Communist Party (People’s War Group). He was allegedly involved in recruiting new members, procuring weapons, and orchestrating extortion activities.
- Soisenba Oinam (22)
- Lourembam Chingkheinganba (21)
- Ningombam Jerit Singh (23)
The three individuals were members of the banned KCP (Taibangnganba) faction, reportedly engaged in extortion. Police seized three mobile phones during the arrest.
- Samurailakpam Deno Sharma (23)
- Taorem Yuhenba Singh (23)
Both were active members of the Kanglei Yawol Kanna Lup (Sorepa group), apprehended near Border Pillar No. 80.
These successful operations underline the ongoing efforts by Manipur Police to curb militant activities and ensure security within the region.
