Assam: Tiger Scare in Bokakhat Tea Garden Leaves Workers in Fear

Guwahati, July 22 Bokakhat Tea Garden workers are living in fear following a tiger scare that began on July 10. Despite ongoing efforts by the forest department to address the situation, the presence of the tiger has left the garden’s labor force on edge.

The scare started on the night of July 10 when garden workers reported hearing a tiger’s roar, prompting immediate action from the forest department. Authorities have been using firecrackers and maintaining a constant guard to drive the animal away.

To ensure the safety of the workers during their leaf-picking duties, the forest department has implemented several strategies, including creating noise with tins and using papayas to deter the tigers. Despite these measures, workers remain concerned, suspecting there may be three to four tigers in the area.
