Guwahati, 27th July: A 10-year-old boy, Azidul Sheikh, tragically drowned in the Tunia river in Bongaigaon’s Boitamari on July 27. The incident occurred while Azidul was en route to his grandfather’s house in Dhakanabari, Dhubri, accompanied by his aunt.
Reports indicate that Azidul was riding a boat with his companion, Samanya, when the accident happened. Despite efforts to ensure safety, the inherent risks of such activities in the river led to this unfortunate event.
Local authorities and community members have expressed profound grief over the loss.
