Meghalaya: Khasi Students’ Union Demands Transparency from MPSC, Sets 48-Hour Deadline

Northeast Desk, 31st July: The Khasi Students’ Union (KSU) has issued a 48-hour ultimatum to the Meghalaya Public Service Commission (MPSC) to release the marks of the Meghalaya Civil Service (MCS) Preliminary examinations. The student body has also called for an independent investigation into alleged discrepancies in the recruitment process.

The KSU’s demand follows dissatisfaction with the explanations provided by the MPSC regarding the MCS (Prelims) examination. In a letter addressed to the MPSC chairman, the KSU demanded clarification on several points, including the alleged omission of qualified candidates from the personal interview shortlist for the MPS.

The letter also called for a review of the selection process for the statistical officer position under the A.H. & Veterinary Department, where two candidates were selected for a single advertised post. The KSU urged the immediate rectification of any errors and the potential cancellation of results if discrepancies are confirmed.

The student body emphasized the need for transparency and fairness in the recruitment process, urging the MPSC to rectify any faults and ensure that all qualified candidates are given due consideration.

The ultimatum reflects growing unrest and demands for accountability within Meghalaya’s public service recruitment processes, with the KSU advocating for the rights and fairness for all candidates.
