Northeast Desk, 9th August: Sikkim Chief Minister Prem Singh Tamang held a crucial meeting with Major General K.S. Dhatwal of the 27 Mountain Division at his official residence to review military operations and water management in North Sikkim.
Major General Dhatwal briefed Tamang on ongoing military activities in the region, including infrastructure development along riversides to combat soil erosion. He outlined efforts to identify critical erosion-prone areas and the coordination with the Chief Secretary for effective river training measures.
Additionally, Dhatwal provided updates on the monitoring of lakes in North Sikkim, emphasizing the importance of tracking water levels to manage potential risks.
In a Facebook post, CM Tamang affirmed the state government’s commitment to supporting and collaborating with the military on these initiatives, ensuring continued progress and safety in the region.
