Meghalaya’s Irene Dkhar and Dr. Tanvi Marak to Compete in Miss Grand India 2024
Northeast Desk, 10th August: The Meghalaya Youth Tourism Development Society and Miss Meghalaya Organisation announced on August 9 that Irene Dkhar and Dr. Tanvi Marak will represent the state in the prestigious Miss Grand India 2024 pageant.
Irene Dkhar, a seasoned titleholder, has previously held the titles of Miss Northeast, Miss Meghalaya, and Femina Miss India Meghalaya. Dr. Tanvi Marak, another prominent contender, has also been crowned Miss Meghalaya, Miss Sunsilk Northeast, and Femina Miss India Meghalaya in the past.
Miss Grand India, organized by Glamanand Entertainment, is considered one of the top three beauty pageants in the country. The grand finale is set to take place on August 11 at Zee Studio in Jaipur, Rajasthan, where the two Meghalaya representatives will compete against some of the nation’s finest.
This announcement follows the recent success of Bahun Nongrum, who won the title of Miss Universe Meghalaya 2024 on August 3 at the Lariti Multipurpose Hall. Chaivalry Lartang and Lily Kharthangmaw were named first and second runners-up, respectively. Nongrum will go on to represent Meghalaya in the Miss Universe India 2024 competition.
In the same event, Mika Dkhar was crowned Miss Teen Meghalaya 2024, with Palei Chyne and Nikita Nongrum securing the first and second runner-up positions. Mika Dkhar will represent the state at the Miss Teen Diva pageant, also to be held in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
These developments mark a significant moment for Meghalaya’s pageant community, as the state continues to make its presence felt on national platforms.
