Guwahati, 12th August: In a horrifying incident that has deeply shaken the community in North Karimganj, Assam, a man brutally killed his parents on August 10. The accused, Abdul Haleem, allegedly entered his family home and viciously attacked his father, Abdul Salem, with a sharp weapon.
According to initial reports, the tragedy escalated when Haleem’s mother, Badrun Nessa, tried to intervene in a desperate attempt to save her husband. In a shocking act of violence, Haleem turned on his mother with a sickle, killing both parents on the spot.
In a chilling aftermath, Haleem reportedly recited verses from the Quran and posted the recitation on social media before fleeing the scene, leaving the local community reeling in shock and disbelief.
Local authorities were quickly notified, and police arrived at the scene to recover the bodies, which were subsequently sent to Karimganj Civil Hospital for post-mortem examinations. An investigation has been launched to determine the motive behind this horrific act, though it remains unclear at this stage.
