Security Forces Seize Weapons Cache in Manipur During Extensive Operations
Northeast Desk, August 16, 2024 — In a bid to bolster security and combat illegal activities, security forces in Manipur have conducted extensive search operations across the state’s hill and valley districts. These efforts, focused on fringe and vulnerable areas, have led to the recovery of a significant cache of weapons and ammunition.
During a targeted search in the Lower Loiching Ridge area of Kangpokpi District, security personnel uncovered a variety of arms. The seized items included:
- One 9mm pistol with a magazine
- One 12-bore single-barrel rifle
- One improvised 7.62mm SLR
- One improvised 9mm CMG with a magazine
- Two improvised mortars (both long and short-range)
- One radio set with a charger (Baofeng)
- One MK III A2 grenade
- One HE-36 hand grenade detonator
- Two stun shell (smoke) devices
- Fourteen rounds of live ammunition
- Two mortar bombs
