Arunachal: Four Criminals Escape Judicial Custody in Namsai; Search Operations Launched

Late last night, four criminals escaped from judicial custody in Namsai district, Arunachal Pradesh, in a daring breakout. The individuals who managed to flee include Arjun Kanda, Gopal Munda, Robin Surin, and Mineswar Dihingia. Notably, Mineswar Dihingia is believed to be associated with the NSCN (U) group, raising concerns over his escape.

The incident has prompted an extensive manhunt by local authorities, with security forces intensifying efforts to recapture the fugitives. This escape comes on the heels of a similar event in July 2024, where a coordinated operation between the Arunachal Pradesh and Assam police forces led to the recapture of another escaped inmate, Isahan Deori, alias Patal, in Naharlagun.

Deori, a habitual offender, had previously been arrested under Section 303(2) of the Indian Judicial Code in Lakhimpur, Assam. After evading authorities following his escape from custody in Naharlagun, a joint police team successfully located and apprehended him in the Demsite area. Legal procedures were swiftly followed, and Deori was handed over to the Assam police for further proceedings.

The recent escape in Namsai has intensified security measures in the region, with law enforcement agencies working together to prevent any further incidents and to bring the escaped criminals back into custody.
