Assam: Search for Missing Man in Raimona National Park Enters Fifth Day with No Success
Guwahati, 18th August: The search for Abhijit Sarkar, who went missing four days ago at Chowdhuryghat in Raimona National Park, continues with no signs of the 32-year-old resident of Kachugaon Bazar in Gossaigaon. Sarkar vanished while bathing in the Sankosh River during a family picnic on August 15, sparking immediate concern.
Local villagers, alongside Sarkar’s family, initially led efforts to find him, but their attempts were in vain. The Assam Police, aided by the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF), have since taken over the search operations, conducting a thorough sweep of the area. Despite these relentless efforts, no trace of Sarkar has been found so far.
The incident has deeply impacted the local community, as hopes remain pinned on the ongoing rescue mission. Authorities continue to comb through the challenging terrain and waters of the Sankosh River, determined to locate Sarkar and bring closure to his worried family.
