Manipur Police Apprehends Three KCP Cadres in Extortion Case
Northeast Desk, 19th August: In a significant operation, the Manipur Police successfully detained three cadres of the KCP (Nongdrenkhomba) faction at Khori Arcade in Hiyangthang, Imphal West. The individuals, identified as Sanju Wahengbam (20), Soibam Manoj Singh (27), and Soibam Lanchenba Meitei (24), were reportedly engaged in extortion activities across the region.
During the operation, law enforcement officials seized a number of items from the suspects, including three mobile handsets, a four-wheeler vehicle, and a sum of Rs. 50,110 in cash. The arrests mark a significant step in the ongoing efforts to curb extortion and other unlawful activities in the state.
The Manipur Police continue to intensify their operations against militant groups, aiming to restore peace and order in the region. The detained individuals are currently in custody, and further investigations are underway to determine the extent of their involvement in criminal activities.
