Tripura CM Manik Saha Announces Ex-Gratia for Flood Victims, Calls for Public Cooperation

Northeast Desk, 23rd August: Tripura Chief Minister Manik Saha has announced an ex-gratia payment of Rs 4 lakh to the families of those who have lost their lives in the ongoing floods that have severely impacted the state. The announcement follows widespread displacement and casualties due to the severe flooding.

During an inspection of a relief camp at BR Ambedkar School in Agartala, Saha addressed the critical nature of the situation, urging the public to cooperate with the government’s relief efforts.

“The situation is still concerning. I want to urge everyone to support and cooperate with the government and the NDRF teams,” Saha stated. He also mentioned that he is personally visiting the affected areas and may conduct an aerial survey, depending on the weather conditions.

The Chief Minister acknowledged the support provided by the *Central Government, particularly from Home Minister Amit Shah, who he said has sent all necessary aid following their discussions. “The Central Government and Home Minister Amit Shah have sent all necessary aid,” Saha noted, emphasizing the prompt response from the central authorities.

Saha also highlighted the severity of the situation in *Amarpur, Gomati District, where food distribution is ongoing and airlifting supplies is being considered. He commended the efforts of District Magistrates and Disaster Management teams, stating, “We are working tirelessly everywhere.”

In a message on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Saha reiterated his appeal for public cooperation, assuring the people of Tripura that the administration is fully committed to helping those affected by the calamity. “I seek the cooperation of all the people of the state during this calamity. I assure you, the administration is wholeheartedly engaged in helping the bereaved people,” he posted.
