Arunachal: Unexploded WWII Bombs Found Near Indian Air Force Firing Range

Northeast, August 24 Two unexploded bombs from World War II were discovered by a villager near Murtem Koro in Paro village, within the Dollungmukh Circle. The bombs, weighing 100 kg and 500 kg, were found close to the Indian Air Force (IAF) firing range.

Upon discovery, the bombs were immediately reported to local police, administration, and IAF authorities. Superintendent of Police (SP) Kamle Kardak Riba and his team swiftly arrived at the scene. The area has been cordoned off and sealed, with strict restrictions imposed to prevent villagers from approaching the site.

SP Kamle held a meeting with Gaon Burahs and Gram Panchayat members to inform them about the situation and potential risks. The IAF and district administration are working together to ensure the safe defusing or detonation of the bombs to prevent any hazards or misuse.
