IAF Enhances Flood Relief Operations in Tripura

Northeast, August 24 In response to the severe flooding in Tripura since August 19, the Indian Air Force (IAF) has intensified relief efforts by deploying Mi-17 and ALH helicopters. These helicopters have successfully air-dropped over 4,000 food packets to stranded residents in the worst-hit areas, including Rangamati, Jatanbari, Udaipur, Paschim Malbasa, and Shankar Pali in the Gomati and South districts.

To date, the IAF has airlifted and distributed 28 tons of relief material. The National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) is also actively engaged in the rescue and relief operations, with personnel deployed to assist affected communities.

While some regions have experienced slight improvements, the situation remains critical in many areas, especially Gomati and South districts. Efforts continue to provide aid and restore normalcy in the disaster-stricken regions.
