Assam Police Seize Firearms and Apprehend Two in Sonari
Guwahati, 2nd September: Assam police on September 1 conducted a routine check in Sonari that led to the seizure of firearms and other suspicious items, resulting in the arrest of two individuals. The arrested suspects, identified as Abdul Sattar and Niranjan Buragohain, were found in possession of a pistol, live ammunition, two vehicles, and four mobile phones.
The arrests were made following actionable intelligence that prompted the law enforcement officials to intercept the suspects. The operation, noted for its efficiency, has raised concerns about potential illegal activities in the region.
Both individuals are currently detained at the Sonari police station, where further investigations are being carried out to uncover any possible connections to broader criminal networks. The police are working to determine the full extent of their involvement in any illicit operations.
