Manipur CM Condemns Drone Bombings as Terrorism Amidst Rising Tensions

Northeast Desk, 3rd September: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has strongly condemned the use of drones to drop bombs on civilian populations and security forces, labeling the acts as terrorism. In a statement shared on his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Singh described the attacks as cowardly and emphasized that the state government is treating these unprovoked assaults with the utmost seriousness.

Singh assured the public that necessary measures would be taken to combat such forms of terrorism, particularly against the indigenous population. He also denounced all forms of violence, urging the people of Manipur to unite against hate, division, and separatism.

The condemnation follows a recent violent incident in Manipur, where two bombs, allegedly dropped by drones, exploded in the Senjam Chirang Maning region on September 2. The explosions occurred around 6:20 pm, injuring 23-year-old Watham Sanatombi Devi, the daughter of W. Gambhi from Senjam Chirang Maning Leikai.

This attack has heightened concerns about the growing use of drones in violent activities within the region. Authorities are currently investigating the incident to identify those responsible and to evaluate the broader security implications of this alarming development.
