Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma Advocates ‘Positive Politics’ During NPP’s 12th Anniversary
Northeast Desk, 3rd September: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma emphasized the National People’s Party’s (NPP) commitment to ‘positive politics’ during the celebration of the party’s 12th anniversary. Addressing party members, Sangma highlighted the NPP’s stance against divisive politics, stressing that the party speaks about ‘area and particular people’ without targeting any community.
Sangma urged his fellow party members to remain humble and grounded, advising them not to be swayed by power. He stressed the importance of treating the people of Meghalaya with respect, reflecting the party’s core values.
The Chief Minister also took the opportunity to commend Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong for his contributions to the state, acknowledging his dedication and hard work.
The anniversary event coincided with a significant tourism conference held in Meghalaya, where tourism ministers from North Eastern and Eastern states, along with representatives from the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, convened on September 2. The conference, the third in a series of regional consultations, focused on collaborative strategies to boost India’s tourism sector.
This dual focus on party values and regional development underlines the NPP’s commitment to both political integrity and the economic progress of Meghalaya.
