Northeast Desk, 3rd September: The Cherry Blossom Festival, one of Northeast India’s premier music and cultural events, is set to return in 2024 with an impressive lineup of global and local talent. Organized by Meghalaya Tourism and Rockski EMG, the festival has unveiled its first wave of performers, ensuring a memorable experience for attendees.
Headliners and Highlights:
- Boney M: The legendary disco group, featuring founding member Maizie Williams, will make a special appearance in Shillong as part of their Farewell Tour.
- R3HAB: Ranked as the 14th best DJ in the world, R3HAB will electrify the festival with his renowned EDM performances.
- Bollywood Stars: Kanika Kapoor and Jasleen Royal will bring their popular chart-topping hits to the stage.
- Tribute Acts: Russian group Queen Sensation and Slovakian band Korn SK will pay tribute to the iconic bands Queen and Korn, respectively.
- Local Legends: The Great Society will reunite after 35 years, celebrating India’s rich musical legacy.
The festival will also feature performances by a major K-pop act and a former global pop superstar, with details to be announced soon.
In a nod to global cultural exchange, Japan will be the official country partner, with TRTL Tokyo presenting a dedicated zone showcasing Japanese culture.
