Meghalaya CM Conrad Sangma Leads 63rd Teachers’ Day Celebrations, Honours Educators at U Soso Tham Auditorium
Northeast Desk, 5th September: The U Soso Tham Auditorium in Shillong witnessed a grand celebration on September 5 as Meghalaya marked its 63rd Teachers’ Day, with Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma paying tribute to the state’s educators. The event, held in conjunction with the birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, honoured teachers from across Meghalaya for their vital contributions to shaping young minds.
During the ceremony, CM Sangma expressed heartfelt gratitude to teachers for their dedication and role in securing the future of the state. “We are deeply thankful to our teachers for their knowledge, wisdom, and the values they instill in our children,” he stated on social media, acknowledging the significance of educators in society.
The event also served as a platform to highlight challenges faced by the state’s education system, including the need for improved literacy and better access to quality education in rural areas. Despite these hurdles, teachers were commended for their pivotal role in driving educational progress.
Outstanding educators were recognised for their service during the event, which also featured cultural performances by students, showcasing the talents fostered by teachers throughout the state.
