Sikkim: Trishakti Corps Holds Veterinary Camp at Tsomgo as Part of “Operation Sadbhavana”

Northeast Desk, 6th September: The Trishakti Corps of the Indian Army organized a veterinary camp at Tsomgo, Sikkim, under its “Operation Sadbhavana” community outreach program, aimed at providing essential medical care to livestock, particularly yaks.

This annual initiative focuses on addressing the health needs of yaks, which are vital to the livelihoods of local herders. Veterinary experts at the camp provided treatment for ailments such as leg sores, skin infections, eye conditions, and fevers—ailments that require specialized care unique to yaks.

In addition to medical treatments, the camp also offered educational sessions to yak owners, advising them on proper feeding and handling practices to enhance their livestock’s overall health. The camp’s services are especially important given Tsomgo’s remote location, where access to veterinary care is limited. Through this initiative, the Indian Army continues to play a significant role in supporting the well-being of local communities.
