Northeast Desk, 6th September: The Department of School Education, Nagaland, has implemented new regulations regarding school working days, effective immediately. The new guidelines, developed in consultation with stakeholders and aligned with the National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCFSE) 2023, outline the following:
- Foundational Stage (Classes A & B, Classes 1 & 2): All Saturdays are designated as holidays.
- Preparatory Stage (Classes 3 to 5): All Saturdays are also designated as holidays.
- Middle Stage (Classes 6 to 8) and Secondary/Higher Secondary Stage (Classes 9 to 12): The 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month will be observed as holidays.
While Saturdays are generally reserved for holidays, schools may schedule assessments, examinations, bagless days, or non-academic activities and sports events on these days if necessary.
This decision, approved by the competent authority, aims to align school operations with updated educational frameworks and provide structured time for both students and staff.
