Meghalaya CM Honors World Arm Wrestling Champions and Launches Digital Healthcare Initiative

Northeast Desk, 6th September: Meghalaya Chief Minister Conrad K. Sangma recently honored the winners of the World Arm Wrestling Championship 2024, held across Moldova, the Philippines, and India. In a post on X, CM Sangma praised the athletes for their exceptional performance and their contribution to the state’s pride. “Felicitated winners of the World Arm Wrestling Championship, 2024. The arm wrestlers have exemplified grit and determination, competing against seasoned professionals and bringing glory to the state and the nation,” he wrote.

In addition to celebrating the arm wrestlers, the state government has embarked on a significant digital initiative to enhance rural healthcare. In Ri Bhoi District, the government has provided tablet computers to Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs) to modernize community health services. Deputy Commissioner Abhilash Baranwal led the distribution ceremony at the DC’s office conference hall, marking a new chapter in rural healthcare with the support of the District Medical & Health Officer.
