Manipur CM Biren Singh to Meet Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya Amid Escalating Unrest

Northeast Desk, 8th September: Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh is set to meet Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya at Raj Bhawan today, accompanied by his council of ministers and all alliance MLAs. The urgent meeting aims to address the escalating unrest in the state and discuss measures to restore peace and stability.

On the evening of September 7, CM Biren Singh, along with a delegation of ruling MLAs, visited Governor Acharya to highlight the deteriorating situation. During the discussion, the delegation pressed the Governor to relay the state’s concerns to the Centre, emphasizing the urgent need for stringent actions against Kuki militants. These militants, according to reports, are using advanced weaponry to target civilians, aggravating the conflict.

The meeting is seen as a critical step in addressing the growing tensions and ensuring the safety of Manipur’s residents.
