Assam CM Himanta Biswa Sarma Calls for Probe After Tragic Death of Candidate in Jharkhand Recruitment Exam

Guwahati, 10th September: Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, also the BJP’s co-in-charge for Jharkhand, visited the family of a candidate who tragically died during the physical efficiency test for the Jharkhand excise constable recruitment exam. Sarma termed the incident “unfortunate” and urged an investigation to uncover the truth.

Sarma revealed that the candidate was placed on oxygen support at the hospital, but the victim’s sister alleged that the oxygen cylinder was empty. He also called on Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren to provide a job to the victim’s elder brother.

Earlier, Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan criticized CM Hemant Soren, blaming the deaths of twelve candidates on the recruitment drive and accusing the government of political motives. In response, Soren expressed his condolences and directed a review of the recruitment rules to prevent future tragedies.
