Arunachal Pradesh: Bust of Late Khapriso Krong Unveiled at Indira Gandhi Government College

Northeast Desk, 10th September: Women & Child Development, Art and Culture Minister Dasanglu Pul unveiled a bust of (late) Khapriso Krong, former education minister and founder of Indira Gandhi Govt College (IGGC), on September 9. The event took place at the IGGC campus, where Pul praised Krong’s pivotal role in advancing the state’s education sector, particularly in Lohit district.

Local MLA Dr. Mohesh Chai lauded Krong’s efforts in revolutionizing education for the Mishmi community, making higher education more accessible. He also proposed renaming the college after Krong, with the process already underway.

IGGC Principal Dr. Kangki Megu highlighted Krong’s vision of bringing quality education to village communities. The event included a presentation on Krong’s life and contributions, and his family members were honored. Local officials and student representatives also attended the ceremony.
