CYMA to Incinerate Major Drug Haul in Mizoram: A Bold Step in Combating Drug Abuse

Northeast Desk, 10th September: In a decisive move against the drug menace in Mizoram, the Central Young Mizo Association (CYMA) is preparing to incinerate a significant consignment of illegal drugs, following approval from the state government. The confiscated drugs include heroin, methamphetamine, prescription medications, cough syrups, and ganja.

These substances, which either cannot be legally seized or lack sufficient grounds for prosecution, will be destroyed in an incineration process. This initiative aims to ensure that the drugs are permanently eradicated and do not pose a threat to the community.

The CYMA, known for its active involvement in social causes, has received special government permission to handle the destruction of these drugs responsibly. This action underscores the association’s commitment to eliminating harmful substances from the region and represents a proactive effort in the ongoing battle against drug abuse in Mizoram. The incineration is expected to set a precedent in drug control efforts and contribute significantly to public safety.
