Assam DGP GP Singh Emphasizes Citizen-Police Collaboration in Combating Crime
Guwahati, 12th September: Assam Director General of Police (DGP) GP Singh highlighted the vital role citizens play in fighting crime, stating, “Every policeman is a common man in uniform and every citizen is a policeman without uniform.” He expressed gratitude to those supporting the police and welcomed criticism, acknowledging its importance in improving the system.
Singh assured that the Assam Police is committed to tackling internal corruption, being “ruthless and relentless” against corrupt officials. He responded to public concerns about high-profile cases, ensuring that suspects like Dipankar and DB Stock would be apprehended soon. Singh encouraged citizens to share credible information, fostering a collaborative approach to combating crime.
