Assam Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass Announces PMAY-G Benefits for 1.71 Lakh Beneficiaries
Guwahati, 12th September: Assam Minister Ranjeet Kumar Dass revealed that 1.71 lakh beneficiaries in the state will receive their first installment under the Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G) 2.0 scheme during its nationwide launch. He attributed the accelerated construction of houses under the scheme to the current government’s proactive approach since 2021.
Dass, the state’s Panchayat and Rural Development Minister, stated that 15,13,133 pucca houses have been completed under PMAY-G since 2021, surpassing the 4.20 lakh houses built in the previous five years. He credited the improved work culture and enthusiasm in the department, as well as Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma’s regular reviews and his own personal supervision at the panchayat level, for the increased efficiency.
