Supreme Court to Deliver Verdict on Arvind Kejriwal’s Pleas in Excise Policy ‘Scam’ Case

National Desk, 12th September: The Supreme Court is set to deliver its verdict on Friday on Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal’s petitions seeking bail and challenging his arrest by the CBI in the excise policy ‘scam’ case. A bench headed by Justice Surya Kant will pronounce the verdict, which was reserved on September 5.

Kejriwal, who was arrested by the CBI on June 26, has challenged the denial of bail and his arrest in the corruption case. He has also appealed against the Delhi High Court’s order upholding his arrest.

The case relates to alleged corruption in the formulation and execution of the Delhi government’s excise policy for 2021-22. The ED has also lodged a separate money laundering case linked to the alleged excise policy ‘scam’.

The Supreme Court’s verdict will be crucial in determining Kejriwal’s fate and the future of the excise policy ‘scam’ case.
