Arunachal: Union Minister Highlights Increased Budget and Development Initiatives for Northeast at Solung Festival

Northeast Desk, 13th September: Union Minister of State for Rural Development, Kamlesh Paswan, announced on Thursday that the Centre has tripled the budget allocation for Northeastern states, aimed at accelerating their development to match other regions of India. Paswan made this statement while attending the Solung festival in Ruksin, East Siang district, Arunachal Pradesh.

Paswan emphasized that the central government, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, is committed to fast-tracking development projects in Arunachal Pradesh and the entire Northeast. “Visible changes are taking place in areas such as power, education, healthcare, agriculture, tourism, road and air connectivity, and infrastructure,” he said.

He further urged collective efforts to ensure that central and state government schemes reach those in need, even the most remote communities.

Paswan also expressed his connection to Arunachal Pradesh and appreciated the rich cultural heritage of the Adi community, encouraging the promotion of cultural tourism in the state.

Arunachal East MP Tapir Gao, present at the festival, called on the community to preserve their traditional customs and attire for future generations. He also urged collective action to combat drug abuse, ensuring a safer future for the youth.

Several prominent leaders, including Pasighat West MLA Ninong Ering, Pasighat East MLA Tapi Darang, Nari-Koyu MLA Tojir Kadu, and others, were present at the event.
