Guwahati, 19th September: The highly anticipated Assamese film Sikaar, featuring music by renowned artist Zubeen Garg, is scheduled for release on September 20, 2024. Directed by Debangkar Borgohain and produced by Sam Bhattacharjee and Mitra Bhattacharya, the film delves into the lives of tea plantation workers, highlighting the struggles and resilience of women in the community.
Zubeen Garg, who plays a young plantation worker, stars alongside Urmila Mahanta in the lead role. The cast also includes Adil Hussain, Siddharth Sharma, and other notable actors in supporting roles. Sikaar was filmed in various locations, including Assam and London, adding an international dimension to its portrayal of local issues.
