Assam Police Prevents Illegal Entry of Two Bangladeshi Nationals at Karimganj

Guwahati, 20th September: Assam Police on September 20 successfully thwarted the illegal entry of two Bangladeshi nationals, Dilara Begum and Shoel Hawladar, through the international border in Karimganj. The individuals were immediately sent back to Bangladesh following their interception.

This incident follows a series of similar actions by Assam Police in recent days. On September 19, four Bangladeshi nationals were identified near the Indo-Bangladesh border in Karimganj and promptly returned. Additionally, on September 16, five Bangladeshi nationals were detained at a checkpoint in South Salmara Mankachar district.

Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma commended the police efforts, reiterating the state’s zero-tolerance policy on illegal infiltration. He tweeted about the success of the operation, highlighting the state’s commitment to securing the borders.
