Assam: Kamrup Metro Schools Closed Amid Heatwave to Protect Students’ Health
Guwahati, September 23: In response to a severe heatwave affecting the district, all Government, Provincialized, and Private schools in Kamrup Metro will remain closed from September 24 to 27, 2024. The decision follows multiple reports of students suffering from dehydration and other heat-related illnesses.
The closure order, issued by the District Elementary Education Officer and approved by the District Commissioner, aims to safeguard students’ well-being during this period of extreme temperatures. Schools are expected to reopen on September 28, 2024, pending further advisories.
